This was so captivating. I was completely absorbed into this story from start to finish. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. It was such an exciting and engaging read.
ARC Review: The Inmate by Freida McFadden – Mystery/Thriller
Another fast-paced, twisty, addicting, popcorn thriller from McFadden! Overall, this was everything I’d expect from this author – a binge-worthy, compulsive read with building suspense and a twisty ending.

This list will give you a great start if you, like me, don’t normally read these types of books but are looking to branch out of your comfort zone. These are all easy and fun books I would recommend to beginners in these genres. I am primarily a fantasy and thriller reader. Many of these books have those elements in them as well, which helped me to really enjoy them.

Somewhere in the Deep by Tanvi Berwah
If you are looking for something that is light and predictably entertaining, this is a good choice. I enjoyed the story and do recommend it to lovers of this genre if you’re looking for an easy read that is fun and satisfying, even if not necessarily mind-blowingly memorable.
Hemlock by Kiersten Modglin
I devoured this book in two days. I just couldn’t get enough of it and I was so invested in everything. After reading this one, I immediately went to find more books by this author.
Midnight Showing (Malice Compendium #2) by Megan Shepherd
This was a creepy, exciting ride and I highly recommend this series! It’s the perfect blend of horror, mystery, thriller, and even a bit of fantasy.
The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose
Y’all… Molly is one of the most iconic characters ever. She’s quirky and fun and wholly unique. These books are fun, fast-paced, easy, and enjoyable reads.
What Waits in the Woods by Terri Parlato
I devoured this book! I read it in one day because I couldn’t put it down. Terri Parlato is fast becoming a new favorite thriller author of mine.
