I’m so conflicted about this one because I wanted to love it so much and there were parts that I definitely did. My biggest issue with this story is the pacing.
Last to Leave the Room by Caitlin Starling
This was a strange and creepy read! I loved the blend of science fiction and horror. Overall, I thought it was a good read, a solid three-star for me, and I’d read from this author again.
Rouge by Mona Awad
Wow! What a weird, wild, twisted ride this was. This is one of those books that you read and then need time to process afterwards to figure out what the hell you just read.
Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll
Overall, I thought it was a good read, and an important one. It’s a solid three star experience for me. I’d definitely recommend it to thriller readers who want a fresh take on such harrowing true events.
The Intern by Michele Campbell
I really enjoyed this! Much more than I expected to. I’ve never really read a legal thriller like this one. I was completely invested in the characters and the plot.
My Darling Girl by Jennifer McMahon
I absolutely devoured this book! Definitely a five-star experience for me. Highly recommend this book to all mystery, thriller, and horror lovers. It is a must read!
The Invisible Hour by Alice Hoffman
The writing is lyrical, flowy, immersive, and poignant. The story is powerful, magical, and emotional. The romance is so cute and swoon-worthy.
None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell
If I had an exclusive list of 6 star reads, favorites of all time, this would definitely be on it. Honestly, this is the best book she has ever written. If you haven’t read this yet… what are you doing??? Move it to the very top of your tbr list and pick this one up immediately.
The Whispers by Ashley Audrain
There’s a lot to unpack in this book and I can see it being very popular for book clubs. It does deal with some rather dark and traumatic topics (miscarriage, child abuse, etc.) so I would read trigger warnings if those kinds of things are sensitive for you.
Hemlock Island by Kelley Armstrong
This book was wild! I highly recommend it. Can’t wait for everyone to read it just in time with spooky season!
The Stranger Upstairs by Lisa Martin
Wow, what an experience! This book was just everything I never expected and knew I wanted from a horror story. I never thought a book could affect me and actually make me as scared as I was while reading this.
A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid
This is a book to get lost in. I highly recommend this book to all fantasy readers, and even non-fantasy readers alike. It’s a definite five star from me and I’m already anticipating what Reid has in store for us next!
