Get ready to fall even more in love with Saint! And be ready to see where Fable gets her fierceness from, because Isolde is truly a force of nature. I’m so glad we got this prequel. From the Fable duology, Saint and Isolde really lent themselves well to getting a story of their own. This is everything we could have hoped for and everything we expected is delivered. It has all the pirating, gem diving, stormy seas, warring political factions, danger, perilous journeys, hidden agendas, and irresistible romance that we want and love from this series. Even though we already knew some of their story and the outcome, I loved getting an even deeper account of their lives. This story is perfect. Adrienne Young’s writing is impeccable – her ability to tell stories and make you feel them, to be transported into the world and experience everything along with the characters. We get everything more we craved about their story while staying true to everything that we already experienced from the duology. It’s such a bittersweet moment that this series is coming to an end. But I can’t wait for whatever she writes next because I just devour her books.
